Jo Packer

A lesser known British pony book author of which I can find little information at all. As far as I can ascertain, these are the only three books she wrote. All are very attractive books with nice illustrations, and all are now hard to find.

Pepper Series:

1) NO PONY LIKE PEPPER
(HERBERT JENKINS 1957)
ILLUSTRATED BY PETER BIEGEL
SUMMARY: The adventures of a brother and sister who persuade their father to buy them a pony.

2) PEPPER LEADS THE STRING
(HERBERT JENKINS 1965)
ILLUSTRATED BY JULIETTE PALMER?
SUMMARY: When their riding instructor is the victim of a hit and run incident, Paul and Grace determine to find the villain.

Collectors Info:
Both titles are hard to find and are usually expensive.

Other Horse & Pony Books:

GYMKHANA TREK
(HERBERT JENKINS 1959)
ILLUSTRATED BY PETER BIEGEL
SUMMARY: Four children set off on a camping holiday with a difference. They decide to tour the local countryside, visiting and competing at local gymkhanas along the way. But their fun is spoilt by the unwanted attentions of a gang of youths who appear to be following them and causing trouble.
PONYMAD RATING: 2 HORSESHOES

Collectors Info:
Not a common title, but is easier to find than the Pepper books and is usually a lot cheaper.
